ScanMaster G no data

We have the Scan Master G hooked up per instructions and we are not getting any data from the ALDL port. according to the document it is plugged into Port E

It does power on but shows no data on the screen

We have hooked a scan tool up to it and does receive data as well as the old Scan Master. Any suggestions?

When it powers up, what does it display on the screen? Is there a version number?

Stock ECM with TT 5.7 chip
Firmware 1.11
TimerCal 0

turns on says Scanmaster 1.11 then goes blank
ground connect to ADLD pin A.
