Controlling alky with ecugn

Eric.
I'm thinking about setting up mine to control alky. I have alky inj now what do I need from original kit except pump? Use any original wiring? How do you prime system? Pro's con's of doing this. Can you provide wiring diagram? Any detailed videos on YouTube? Any help would be appreciated.

I was doing this last year until my pump started leaking. I have as replacement pump ready to go but just need better weather. My transmission project (4L80E) distracted me from fixing the pump.....

I don't have an official wiring diagram or "kit" at the moment, but its not too difficult.

I removed the alkycontrol electronics. Installed a pressure sensor in the alky line (not totally necessary but highly recommended) and connected a SSR (solid state relay) to feed power to the pump, controlled by the ecuGN.

There are a couple ways to handle the priming, the latest (last 2 years or so) ecuGN's have software control for priming, or you can wire up a button to feed power to the pump.

Yeah Bob. A kit and diagram would be a big help to me if you have any plans of doing that in the future. I don't have enough confidence in my understanding how all this works to do it myself. Relays, fuses, buttons etc. What are some pro's & con's of doing it like this.? Any advice would be appreciated.

if you search on you tube for Steve V's Automotive you'll find Steve Vaillancourt's channel and if you type in the search bar 'Alky' and look for the video labelled 'Alky pump control...' you will get a good idea of what you need to do. it doesn't have to be 'exactly' like Steve did it but you'll get the idea.

Would the setup be similar to controlling a fuel pump via PWM? Where ECUGN would control the soild state relay connected to the pump?

its very similar. I have a video of my prototype installation. but its not very polished.

basically you use all the AlkyControl pump and plumbing, and power the pump via an SSR (solid state relay) that is controlled from the ecuGN.

I think I understand how to wire up the relay. Seems almost too simple. How does one wire in a button or whatever to prime the system?

I found this

The SLIC I have on my E85 car sucks and IAT's hit 200 by mid track. I am thinking of adding a water/meth kit as opposed to putting a FMIC on. I have a NOS soleniod and looking at the AEM pump with a separate tank. Like what the guy in the video did.

most of the Buick kits PWM the pump, this guy's info seems ok. Not sure if the AEM pump will be happy feeding a solenoid.

Once you get it set up, we can help you with a more Buick specific set of tuning.

Thanks Bob, I thought of that too, what do you think chances are this pump will hold up to methanol? They say it will??

It would be nice to make a small tank I could mount in engine compartment with this pump in thank and use a NOS solenoid and jet to spray the methanol. I only plan to use it to cool intake temps.
