Powerlogger windows 10 driver install can't complete

I can't get the drivers updated, I get a message that windows has determined that I already have the most recent drivers. I did the steps to allow unsigned drivers, but the ECU is never recognized as a powerlogger, when I click hardware it shows as a USB converter or USB port. Any advice?

With the newer drivers, it won't say powerlogger anymore in the driver. Are you using windows 10 or 11?

With the key on, plug in the usb cable, and see if a USB device shows up in device manager, without the little yellow ! on it.

yup windows 10, doesn't have an exclamation point next to it.

That looks correct.

The Powerlogger should connect.

Need to make sure the Powerlogger is seeing the right com port. Usually it will find it on its own.

What does it do when you press the monitor button? Does it say anything?

nope, just beeps. I did get it to work though, I had been trying to manually select the com port... when you said it usually finds it on its own that made me realize I should click the automatic radio button. thanks for the help.
