ok a couple questions I. have a used pl. it didn't come with anything except the pl board an. some other little board?
first ? what's the little board for how do I use it?
my pl. is black is that the older one?
an. since its on win 10 Can i just go ahead and. follow the tutorial installing the software on the lap top. or does it need to be reinstalled in the car and powered up?

also forgot. what cable Is. needed to go from pl to lap top?

The little board is for adding external sensors to log, like a MAP sensor or wideband AFR. There is a cable that connects that little board to the main board.
The black one is pretty old. It would need to be installed for your laptop to recognize it.
The cable is typically called a USB printer cable.
