It is a complete stand-alone aftermarket ECU that replaces your original ECU. It turns complete control of tuning over to you (or your tuner). You should be proficient in tuning or have someone that can tune, to use this device.
It comes with everything you need and plugs into the original harness. For the 84/85 cars, you'll need to add an airtemp sensor.
No, absolutely not! Many people have gone really fast with the factory original ECU. The ecu-GN can make it much easier though, with all its built in features, and advanced datalogging. There are also many safety features to help save your engine in case of low fuel pressure, low oil pressure, over-boost, lean AFR, etc. (those sensors need to be connected)
The cost is $1899, and the ecu-GN is currently in production. This is a small market, so these are made in smaller batches. If we happen to be out of stock, the next batch is most likely close behind (about 6 weeks)
